LET’S KICK OFF FALL MIGRATION
Find out how YOU can help our feathered friends fly safely through Connecticut.
Light pollution can draw migrating birds into cities and suburban areas, causing them to collide with buildings. At our Action Meeting, we will launch our EDUCATION & ACTION campaign to save migrating birds in Connecticut. We will discuss and plan a statewide outreach strategy to turn off excess lights across our state during peak bird migration and organize at the state, local, and individual level to make Connecticut’s night skies safe for bird migration.
You’ll also hear about plans for community science projects across Connecticut to monitor window strikes, including with dbird and iNaturalist. Come learn about Lights Out CT and share your ideas as we work together to save migratory birds.
Co-hosted by the Connecticut Ornithological Association & the Connecticut Audubon Society.
