Earth Day Sunday Bird Walk & Service @ Greenwich Audubon Center & North Greenwich Church

Earth Day weekend is a time of significant bird migration. After a bird walk, we'll reflect together on our role in Creation Care.

You are warmly invited to join us for free Earth Day Sunday events! This Sunday at 9 am and 10:30 am. Come for one ~ or both!

Earth Day Bird Walk, Greenwich Audubon Center, 9 am – meet at the Greenwich Audubon Center (613 Riversville Road) for a 45-minute bird walk/talk and introduction to the Lights Out Connecticut initiative in support of migratory birds. (Bring your binoculars!)

Earth Day Sunday Service, North Greenwich Church, 10:30 am – Join us for a special Earth Day worship service at the North Greenwich Church (606 Riversville Road) featuring Meredith Barges, who will speak about the two birds in the Noah’s Ark story, the raven and the dove, referencing readings from Genesis and what the flood and ark tell us now about our climate-changing world and the implications of Creation Care for all species and people around the world.

Zoom link for the service is https://us06web.zoom.us/j/2038853000?pwd=dTVreXJLQXFzdVNrTUp0aVpZUzdJUT09 (Meeting ID: 203 885 3000)

All are welcome!

Meredith Barges is co-chair of Lights Out Connecticut and a policy researcher at Yale Law School, where she works toward system changes to make our cities and towns safer for migratory birds. Meredith is a Master of Divinity student at Yale Divinity School, and is exploring ways to support the mutual thriving of people and places through eco-chaplaincy and bird conservation. In 2021, Meredith helped convince Yale Divinity School to join Lights Out (a non-profit project of the Audubon Alliance) to dim excess lights during peak bird migration seasons.
