Millions of birds pass through Connecticut every spring and fall, following their ancient migratory routes. Most travel at night, while we're fast asleep. We can help them find safe passage by dimming our nonessential lights at our homes, businesses, and schools after 11pm. Bringing Lights Out to North Haven would save energy, money, the climate, and thousands of migratory birds.
Presented by Meredith Barges, a co-chair of Lights Out Connecticut and policy researcher at Yale Law School, working toward system changes to make our cities and towns safer for migratory birds. She is also a Master of Divinity student in her final year at Yale University, preparing for work as a Bird Conservationist and EarthCare Chaplain, sowing seeds of Care in our climate-changing world.
